HOW TO START PLAYING ONLINE
POKER WITH BODOG’S SOFTWARE
1. How to access Bodog’s Poker software
After installing and opening the Poker software, log in with the same account you use on the Bodog website. You’ll be directed to the main interface, which includes the following sections:
Left sidebar:
Displays your real money balance, followed by your available tournament tickets.
Below that, you’ll find your play money balance, perfect for playing without spending a dime.
Next, there’s the CASHIER button for managing deposits and withdrawals.
ACCOUNT and SETTINGS buttons allow access to personal information and software adjustments.
Top menu:
Switch between different game modes, such as:
- Zone Poker (fast poker)
- Cash Games
- Sit & Go Tournaments
- Scheduled Tournaments and Mystery Knockouts
Click on the desired option to filter the available tables or tournaments.
2. Choosing a game or tournament
To join a table or game, select the game type or tournament from the initial interface. See examples below:
Zone Poker (Fast Poker):
Clicking Zone Poker in the top menu shows available tables with the following columns:
- Table Name: examples: Zone Poker - Rams, Texans, etc.
- Game: type of Poker played (Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha H/L).
- Blinds: minimum/maximum bet value, such as $0.02/$0.05.
- Limit: Limit, No Limit (NL) or Pot Limit (PL).
- Max: maximum players per table.
- Players: current number of players at the table.
- Avg Pot: average pot size in cash.
You can filter game, buy-in and limit columns to suit your preferences.
Cash Games:
Clicking on Cash Games lets you use filters to select:
- Game type (Texas Hold’em, Omaha or Omaha Hi-Lo)
- Limit (No Limit, Pot Limit, or Fixed Limit)
- Number of seats (6 or 9 players)
Confirm the buy-in and start playing.
Sit & Go and Scheduled Tournaments:
Select the desired tournament. Details include:
- Tournament type: Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo
- Buy-in: tournament entry value.
- Number of players: registered participants.
- Guaranteed or estimated prize.
Click on the desired tournament, review the details and register.
3. How to play and raise bets
Playing Poker on Bodog’s software is simple and intuitive. Start by choosing a table and game type (Limit, No Limit or Pot Limit) that fits your style. During the game, place bets, observe opponents’ plays and make strategic decisions based on cards and bets at the table.
Options during gameplay: In the top left corner, you’ll find quick access to:
- Casino
- Settings
- Hand history
- Open similar table
- Cashier
To sit out a hand, click “Skip the Next Hand.” To return, click “I’m Back” to join the next table immediately.
Betting strategies:
During the game, you’ll have different options to make decisions about how to bet. Here’s what each one means:
- Fold: quit the hand.
- Call: match the current bet.
- Raise: increase the bet.
- All-In: bet all your available chips.
- Check: pass the turn without increasing the bet.
If you’re playing No Limit (NL), you can bet any amount above the minimum up to the total of your chips. In Pot Limit (PL), the maximum bet is the total of the pot.
4. Managing balance and play money
Real Money:
Use the CASHIER button in the left sidebar to deposit and withdraw funds.
Play Money:
Ideal for practicing and improving your skills without spending real money.
Bonuses and Hand History:
At the top, review your bonuses, XP points, and access the Rewards Store. In Hand History, analyze past hands to refine strategies.
5. Settings and Preferences
In SETTINGS, adjust preferences for tables and gameplay.
Table Settings: customize information display, themes and sounds.
Game Settings: enable/disable options like:
Stack values in big blinds:
shows your stack size in big blinds.
Rabbit Card:
displays the next card that would have been dealt after a hand ends.
Default Buy-In: Set minimum and maximum buy-ins (in big blinds) for real money tables, based on your budget.
6. Language and Support
Play in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Select your language in the top-right corner.
